It is so common that over the last year we have seen an increase in the stress level among people because of the economic conditions. But did you know that stress can threaten your health and well-being and if we don't work on controlling it...it can escalade to create disease instead of ease in our lives.
Stress comes about when we respond to situations with excessive amounts of anger, fear, frustration, resentment or envy. Have you heard anything positive in the words I have just mentioned? This sounds like a lot of EGO obstructing the way of doing things!!
They all create a burden on your body and deplete energy, disrupt your immune system and impair cardiovascular health. When you moderate your responses, maintain a strong social support system, and develop healthy ways of coping with stress, you protect yourself from its damaging effects.
Some individuals also walk through life using stress as way of creating status by appearing busy in front others and believing that stress is good for their reputation. What a waste of time! There is nothing more empowering than acting calm and living with ease. The expressions "take it easy", "be cool" or "let it flow" are real expressions and come from great wisdom. Therefore we must work on releasing our stress and creating ease…not disease to our lives.
There are many techniques we can use to fight stress and relax. It is important to disconnect several times a day from the general world around us and in the process connect with our selves. Through connecting with ourselves we can take a break from our busy lives and enjoy the wonders of feeling relaxed.
I have a big list for you, but let's make this an experiment. How many of you are working on a daily basis on connecting with yourselves? Are you seriously making it a daily practice as we must eat or exercise?
